Twilio privacy-policy rejection: check the link, policy and practice.

By A2P Fix · Sources checked September 21, 2026

A privacy-policy rejection can involve the destination, its content, or conflicting versions. Verify the exact submitted policy first. Do not paste a promise into a policy unless it matches how your business actually handles data.

Separate two questions

A missing URL and an inaccurate policy are different problems. Fixing one does not prove the other is correct.

A practical policy audit

CheckHow to investigate
DestinationOpen the exact link from the application signed out. Record its final destination.
IdentityCompare the policy’s business name with the application and website.
ConsistencyFollow policy links from the footer and signup form. Compare the versions.
Data practicesAsk the business owner what messaging information is collected, used and shared. Compare that answer with the text.
Registration requirementsCheck the current official policy guidance, including messaging disclosures and marketing-sharing restrictions.

Example: two policy links, two different answers

Illustrative audit, not legal language

The application links to a newer policy. The signup form still links to an older version with a broad marketing-sharing statement.

What to do: determine the actual data practice, reconcile the policy wording, and point the form and application to the correct public version. Check the entire document again for contradictions.

Evidence: save the updated destination, the form’s policy link and a dated record of the change.

Twilio’s policy reference identifies protection of mobile information and messaging consent from third-party or affiliate marketing sharing as a requirement. It also describes messaging disclosures and publicly accessible policy links. Registration wording must reflect reality; it does not establish broader legal compliance.

Why a generic template may not solve it

A template cannot tell you which vendors receive your data or whether your staff uses a second collection process. Use it as a checklist of questions, not as evidence that the business follows every statement. If the policy and operations conflict, resolve the operations and wording together.

Before you resubmit

  1. Record the exact rejection and relevant URL field.
  2. Resolve inaccessible destinations and conflicting versions.
  3. Verify the actual data practices with the person responsible.
  4. Recheck the live form and application links.
  5. Save the correction in the evidence worksheet.

Download the evidence worksheet (CSV). Continue with the resubmission guide, or check consent wording and controls if those were also flagged.
